Silk was born Fredericton located in New Brunswick Canada. Ilkay Silk is the daughter of Peter Silk, a professor and Anna Silk, an actress, director as well as a producer and playwright. Anna holds some early memories of going to rehearsals of plays. Silk made several commercials while she was a child. She was a graduate of St. Thomas University with an Associate of Arts degree in 1997. Theatre St. Thomas has produced two plays in the initial years: Seven Menusand The Kitchen. Silk began her acting career after moving to Toronto the Canadian city of Toronto at the end of November in 1999. After that, she relocated from Toronto to Los Angeles for the remainder of the decade. Seth Cooperman met Silk at an Actors Workshop held in Los Angeles in 2007. They got engaged in 2009 and were wed in a civil ceremony ceremony in December. They renewed their vows on the 10th of April in Fredericton at a Jewish service after she became Jewish.
